(Festival / Traditions, Si Satchanalai , Sukhothai)
The water Kathina procession tradition in Si Satchanalai District, Sukhothai Province is a beautiful and meaningful tradition that has been revived by the villagers after being lost for over 30 years. The procession involves 12 communities coming together to share their stories and way of life through various activities such as almsgiving, rowing boat procession, Rocket Festival procession, and honoring the elderly devoted to Dharma, symbolizing their profound faith in Buddhism. Each boat is adorned with beautiful decorations, and the Kathina robes are ceremoniously presented to Wat Bot Mani Ram, adding to the grandeur of the occasion.
