Declaration of the UNESCO World Heritage Site
The heritage of Phra Ruang is inherited from the ancestors to the present. it linked Sukhothai, Si Satchanalai, and Kamphaeng Phet together to become the great heritage of Phra Ruang. It was declared UNESCO World Heritage Site on December 12, 1991. Sukhothai Historical Park, Si Satchanalai Historical Park, and the Kamphaeng Phet Historical Park were registered as a World Heritage Site under the name "Historic Town of Sukhothai and Associated Towns"

Under the Requirements
I. It represents a unique artistic beauty and a masterpiece inspired by true artistry. II. To represents exceptional uniqueness or evidence that shows the customs, traditions, or civilizations which are still left or lost.

Historic sites and antiques appearing in these three historic cities show the great creations of art, traditions, and civilizations with the identity and show the prosperity of the economy, religion, politics, and society, under the words "Dawn of Happiness"."
