Wat Tuek

The puzzle of mango forest.
<In the group of temples outside area of Sukhothai city, which has a complex mountain range, the forest, the stream, and several monasteries are located there. The area is known as the "Mango Forest" is probably the most important as there is an important monastery called "Wat Pa Mamuang" which is the residence of Somdej Phra Maha Thamracha Lithai when he entered the Buddhist monk. There is the Wat Sri Tone, the residence of Somdej Phra Swami Sangkarach and there are shrines in the area as well. Nowadays, these archaeological sites still appear in the ruins.

There are small mondops with three solid sides that facing east, the door with the top is angularity and inside that enshrined a Buddha image, but it was broken down. The villagers called "Wat Tuek", cannot identify what was originally called or it would be the individual temple or the part of the other important temples.

The value of this ancient site is not in the name or the state of the temple, but it is in the architecture and decoration. Especially, the traces of the decoration of the exterior of the mondop with stucco designs that decade ago were almost completely visible but now almost all fall. However, there is the people's arm sculpture and something like the ladder left. It is assumed that it used to be a part of the history of the events when the Buddha was descending from heaven which Sukhothai technicians liked to create in the past.
