The archaeological site in Sukhothai historical park is a religious place that local people
worship. Meanwhile, it is the enchanted tourist attraction. Most travelers are fascinated with its
beauty, and they feel relaxed with the peaceful atmosphere which is able to imagine in the past.
Moreover, they can sit still and do nothing or walk slowly or ride a bicycle or drive an electric
car along the way to get inspired in your everyday lives.

1. Do not climb upon any archaeological sites or Buddha statues because they are the things that
local people worship.
2. Do not write or paint on any archaeological sites because it would be the destroying of the world
heritage.
3. Be careful while taking pictures with the inappropriate poses with Buddha statues because they
are the thing that local people respect.
4. Do not reorganize any bricks or pieces of archaeological sites. Besides, they are not the belief
of the local Buddhists and would destroy archaeological sites.
5. Do not express your private affection by hugging and kissing your partner in religious places
because they were the sacred sites.
6. Do not wear tank tops, vests, short skirts, or short pants.
7. Do not make a loud noise.

A full apology for making noise on some occasions
There are merit-making ceremonies in the community sometimes such as ordination, housewarming party,
weddings, funerals. These events may play very loud music in the early morning, especially on the
day of the event. Apparently, visitors may experience disturbing noise at bedtime as well. Through
such tradition, most local people understand as a strategy to announce and invite community members
to join the event.
No entertainment venues and bright light
The community is surrounded by religious sites recognized as a place of worship. Therefore, the
area was banned in entertainment venues. Most restaurants have also been campaigning to use orange
light bulbs and against outdoor advertising of digital signage displays in order to lower light
pollution that has troubled astronomy.

Fine Arts Department carefully protects these world heritages including the archaeological sites,
trees, lawns, and source of water for making the beautiful sceneries for those who visit. Therefore,
they set the garbage dumps that do not obscure these beautiful places. Then, we would like to ask
for your cooperation, ‘Please take out the garbage at the providing places.’

Handicraft Products made by hands with the intentions of local people that the tourists can bring
the products back as the souvenirs which help the local people make a little money to their family.
If you have any favorite products, please consider the reason of the product’s price with the
intention of the local people while making them. Please do not ask for the lower price that may ruin
their feelings and intentions when creating the products.

The survey of plants and animals data in the Sukhothai Historical Park found various kinds of birds
and insects that were the endemic species, wildlife protection, or the endangered species. Here has
the biodiversity because of the diverse elements, the archaeological sites locating near the
community with actively engaged in farming.
Avoid making noisy sound while doing bird watching and bird listening or do not do any activities
that make the loud sound disturbing to birds living.

Do not throw the trash into rivers around the historical park because there are the food sources of
some birds.

Beware of Savage Dogs
1. Some dogs in the historical park may be lovely, but some of them may be unfriendly.
2. Some families in the community let their dogs have a free-range. Some dogs may chase bicycles and
motorbikes or bark at strangers.

Do not visit after 4 PM because there are rural areas. Please see the “Deserted road” symbol
on the map.
Be Careful Driving
Visitors often have unexpected accidents because they are unfamiliar with the area. Please
see the “Dangerous point” symbol on the map to find the place that is easy to have accidents
if you are careless.
Where is the Toilet?
The territory of the historical park is wide. Toilets may not be thorough. Tourists
should prepare well before traveling. However, you can observe the restroom symbols on the
